Dolphin Adventure Tour Must WATCH videos!!

Dolphin Kayaking Trips

Dolphin Ocean Adventure

Our Dolphin Ocean Adventure trip is not for everyone, and you must watch the “Dolphin Adventure Crashes” video to fully understand what this adventure entails.

The “Crash Video” is filmed during much more exciting water than we allow our guests to launch in, but we want you to understand this is not calm water. Some of the video is staff training and just having fun on a big surf day. You do need to be prepared to flip over. This happens a lot; however, most of the time, it is close to shore. We will be there to assist you during launch and return. Wind and current can sometimes be strong here.

We have the greatest chance of seeing wild Dolphins in the greatest numbers, sometimes dozens of them all around us. The greatest number of Dolphins are to be seen around Cape Henry particularly in the Ocean side of the cape. We allow children 8 years old and up on this trip, but it must be with a strong adult in a double kayak. We estimate there is a 90 to 95% chance of seeing Dolphins. We typically do this trip one or two days a week.

If the Ocean launch is too difficult on your scheduled day, we will switch the launch to a new more protected location where we can see Dolphins. This may be the Chesapeake Bayfront at First Landing State Park off Shore Drive or Broad Bay in First Landing State Park at 64th Street.

This trip is $67/person.

Dolphin Kayaking on the Chesapeake Bay

Our Dolphin Kayaking on The Chesapeake Bay trip is at First Landing State Park off Shore Drive. This in an easier kayaking trip that most guests will be able to handle.  We can take children 6 years and older, but they must be with a strong adult in a double kayak. We launch into the calmer waters of The Chesapeake Bay and paddle toward Cape Henry if conditions permit. There are a few pound nets, stationary fishing nets, that attract birds and sometimes Dolphins. Wind and current can sometimes be strong here.

We typically see Dolphins here and sometimes dozens all around us but less frequently than on the Ocean.  We more frequently see smaller numbers of Dolphins. Occasionally we will not see any Dolphins. This trip has roughly a 70 to 90% chance of seeing Dolphins. We typically do this trip one or two days a week.

If the Chesapeake Bayfront launch is too difficult on your scheduled day, we will switch the launch to a new more protected location where we can see Dolphins. This will be on Broad Bay in First Landing State Park at 64th Street. This is our most protected trip with the least wind and little current.

This trip is $62/person.

Calm Water Dolphin Trip

We have a calm water dolphin kayaking trip on the calm waters of Broad Bay in First Landing State Park at 64th Street. This is our easiest trip and it is very family friendly since we have children as young 2 kayak with us. We launch into this calm bay and paddle a mile to where the Dolphins congregate. We wait around and explore the area until we see Dolphins.

We rarely see large numbers of Dolphins but frequently see Dolphins in this area.  We estimate there is a 50 to 60% chance of seeing Dolphins but rarely more than a dozen or so and sometimes we see just a few. Because this is our easiest Dolphin tour and best Sunset location, we frequently do this trip in the evening 3 or 4 days a week.  We also do this trip one or two days a week in the morning and noon. Be aware that evening trips can get rained out at the last minute because of our local weather pattern of warm and humid with a chance of evening showers.

This trip is $57/person.
